Simplicity Meets Power

Our philosophy is to embrace the fact that we don't know everything you need in a framework. Starting with Yverdon, our PHP 5 flavor, we are setting new bars for extensibility and simplicity. Let us know what you think!

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • What is the N2 Framework?

The N2 Framework, or N2F for short, will be (and is becoming) a set of development frameworks that work like a toolbelt for the developer. The frameworks concentrate on being flexible and providing simple ways of turning the system into something that suits the specific situation or development team best. For more information, check out our About N2F page and our documentation.
  • Who builds N2F?

The core development team is listed on our About N2F page, but we are already starting to receive contributions from the development community. If you are interested in contributing to the code, you can start by building some extensions and making them available to the community. As the core team notices people consistently making worthwhile contributions, they will discuss the allocation of 'write' access to the repository on an individual basis.
  • What do I need to run N2F?

Currently we have N2F Yverdon available for use, which is a PHP 5.1+ based framework. If you can run PHP 5.1 or higher, you should have no problems running N2F Yverdon, so check out the documentation and get started!
  • How can I contribute code?

The best way to get started is to build an extension or two. Make sure you join us on IRC and the forums so we can get to know you! Once we know you and you've shown you contribute worthwhile code to the community, we'll contact you about getting write access to the Subversion repository (svn://n2framework.com/N2 Framework/).

If you would like to contribute in other ways, get in touch with us (IRC or Forums) so we know what you want to do.
